About Us
Seton Youth Services has been an indispensable resource for the community, without pause, since 1985.
Each year, hundreds of boys and girls, ages 9 up to 18 arrive at Seton’s two Virginia Beach residential shelters—often in the middle of the night, and in the middle of extreme difficulties at home or on the streets. Seton’s professional staff welcomes them with food, shelter, clothing, school supplies and the counseling and support necessary for them either to return to their families or to continue on to another safe, home environment. Seton’s Youth Outreach Program, visits area schools, events, and neighborhoods, reaching out to thousands of youth, offering crisis intervention, counseling, and shelter options—a lifeline for this vulnerable population. The Mentoring Children of Prisoners program gives children of incarcerated parents or caretakers the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to reach their full potential.
"For me, Seton Youth Shelters was more than a shelter. For a short period of time, it was home. I was homeless, and they took me in with no hesitation."
- Kyle, One of Many Shelter Success Stories
WHEN A CHILD OR TEEN IS IN CRISIS, WE'RE HERE TO HELP.
Assisting children aged 9 up to 18, our shelters are always open and staffed with crisis counselors. We are a licensed Safe Place Agency, a national youth outreach program educating thousands of young people every year about the dangers of running away or trying to resolve difficult threatening situations on their own.
All services are offered without charge. Services are available to all eligible youth regardless of race, religion, creed, ethnic origin or state of residence.

Building Promise Capital Campaign
Through the generosity of its Building Promise Capital Campaign’s lead donor, Seton is configuring space for its shelters, outreach, mentoring and education programs on 3.9 acres at 3396 Stoneshore Road, the former location of St. Luke’s Methodist Church. Help Seton Youth Services Build Promise for Youth in Hampton Roads.
Our new location allows for the construction of buildings specifically design to meet Seton’s needs, offers more convenience and efficiency among staff and volunteers, restores and preserves open green space for the education and enjoyment of the children served, and creates sustainable natural habitat for future generations.
