Internship Opportunities
Internship and Practicum Opportunities are available to students seeking their degree in Counseling, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services Counseling or Psychology. The majority of the internship experience is completed in the Shelter Program, but students are encouraged to observe other programs offered by Seton Youth Services.
- Seton Youth Services is currently only accepting interns working on degrees in: Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or Human Services Counseling.
- We currently do not take Masters Level students, we can only take Bachelors Level students.
- Once an application is received, we will verify if we have availability for your request, based the semester you need and our list of current interns already accepted.
- At that point, if we do not have availability we will let you know immediately. We will offer the next open semester (if we have openings).
- If there are openings, then we set up an appointment with you to come in for an interview. You must bring your resume, ID, and school paperwork.
- After the initial interview, if you are an appropriate fit for ou agency & programs we will have you fill out all required intern paperwork. This will include any necessary background checks and fingerprints so it can be returned back in enough time to start you at the beginning of the semester.
- Once we have your listing and paperwork completed, we then set up an intern orientation to discuss the do’s and don’ts for the semester, go over what the expectation are and finalize schedules and which shelter you will be at.
- Appropriate Seton Youth Services staff shall provide all supervision.
- 1 hour per student per week.
- Staff directors will also be responsible for completing all mid-term and final evaluations and have a minimum of one face to face or phone meeting with their school advisor per student per semester.
- If selected, interns must complete a minimum of three days per week, for at least 12 hours weekly. This will include a Saturday or Sunday.
- Interns must be enthusiastic about assisting adolescents with behavioral and family issues. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in treatment planning, assessments and counseling sessions.
If interested in internship/practicum, potential interns must complete an interview. If selected, interns must complete a minimum of three days per week, for at least 12 hours weekly. This will include a Saturday or Sunday.
- Interns must be enthusiastic about assisting adolescents with behavioral and family issues. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in treatment planning, assessments and counseling sessions.
- If selected for an interview, you will be contacted within five days. Applicants will be informed of a decision promptly.
